Other than replacing a head gasket when the original fiber one leaked (has copper now), I don't believe the engine has ever had internal work of any kind. However, it is exceptionally well sorted, with the usual upgrades any Commando needs. I've owned this Norton since 1999, when I bought it from Baxter Cycles for $5,800 with about 4,000 miles on the clock

I just like the Triumph rear lights better than the Nortons. You may find a cheaper Norton, but it won't have the miles mine does and mine has not seen any. In the pictures you might notice the rear signals are different, they are from a Triumph, but I still have the original lights and signals that came with the bike
